There is no charge for taking part in the Welcome party, the Schubertiade or the Banquet. However, if you wish to make a cash contribution of no more than $50 NZD this will be gratefully accepted. Shixiao Wang will collect those donations.

Sunday afternoon, Welcome party

A house party will be held in the afternoon and evening of Sunday 19 February to welcome guests to the conference at 16 Wallace St, Herne Bay, Sunday 19 February, 13:00 to 22:00. Light refreshments will be available. This is an alcohol-free event.

Tuesday evening, Schubertiade

An amateur musical event. 16 Wallace St, Herne Bay Tuesday 21 February, from 19:30. Unlike the musical evenings in Schubert’s lifetime, we will not confine ourselves to any specific genre. If you want to sing something or play a musical instrument, you will be welcome to do so in front of supportive friends.

Wednesday afternoon, Free time

This is a free afternoon to rest or explore some of the sights of Auckland. If you would like explore Auckland sights with a small group of other participants, wait in the lecture theatre at 12:30 and join up with others who have similar interests.

Important: Protect your skin, the UV level is generally very high in Auckland in summer.

Here are some suggestions:

• (Helmut) Walk to the foot of Queen St, take a ferry to Devonport, eat lunch there and visit various sights. Note that Devonport has a beach.
  If you want to change clothes or take items to your hotel room you can catch up again with the group at the ferry building at 1:15 pm. We will take the ferry at 1:30 pm from Pier 2. You need an AT Hop card that you can buy at the piers.

Thursday, Conference banquet

Restaurant, Pullman Hotel, Thursday 23 February 18:00 - 22:30. Unfortunately the Top of the Town restaurant, within the Pullman Hotel, has been damaged by floodwater and is no longer available.
The banquet will be transferred to another venue within the Pullman Hotel.
